Get Ready! Speedcar Super Series 06-07 Schedule!
18/07/2006 - SSS PR

SSS Director Ken Jenkins has officially announced the schedule for the 2006-2007 Speedcar Super Series, covering 6 tracks throughout QLD, NSW, VIC and SA.

“The plan was to build on the progress the SSS made last season” Jenkins stated. “Mildura, Avalon, TPCR and Charlton have all recommitted this year with Murray Bridge and Gilgandra Speedway newcomers to the SSS scene”.

Round 1 of the series championship is scheduled for Murray Bridge Speedway on the 28th of October, a superb track for the Speedcar superstars to kick off the series and showcase their skills for South Australian Speedway fans!

Continuing an onslaught of sensational Speedcar competition, the Series heads to Victoria with Timmis Speedway Mildura hosting round 2 on November 11th; the scene of last season’s spectacular battle for the lead between the Rondalee Rocket Mark Brown and Kiwi ace Michael Pickens; before returning to the Victorian Speedcars Club home track for round 3 at Avalon Raceway on the 18th of November!

The only way to start the New Year celebrations is by attending Round 4 at Gilgandra Speedway! Set to take flight 30th December 2006, this event sees the Speedcars return to country NSW for it’s first meeting at the exciting venue since January 2005. This year, the SSS Gilgandra event itself will be hosted and promoted by the NSW Speedcar Association, bringing the best Speedcar racing in Australia right to Gilgandra’s doorstep.

The tour heads north in late January 2007 to take on the Queensland Speedcar contingent at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway, conveniently scheduled in the Saturday prior to the 66th Australian Speedcar Championship at BIS, before screaming onto Round 6 at Sydney's Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for the grand finale event on February 17th!

But what of car counts?

“We’ve had a tremendous response to the series from all the Speedcar clubs across Australia” concluded Jenkins. “Drivers have already committed from a number of states, including 2 competitors from West Australia and we’re still fielding queries and statements of interest. Official registration forms, rules and regs will be available online this week with nominations closing on the 9th September 2006”.
