Smee Smashes SSS Dropout Rumours!
09/01/2007 - SSS PR

After a nasty bone jarring roll at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway last Friday night which left the NSR team NSW6 Stealth/Fontana destroyed, Nathan Smee remains determined to complete the six round Speedcar Super Series despite rumours circulating that the Sydney hot shot will drop out prior to Round 5 at Charlton Raceway, Toowoomba.

“The crew have been doing some long hours to strip the wreckage and build a new car from scratch” said Smee from his workshop. “Our sponsor Kingsfeld Excavation purchased a new Stealth chassis for us and we’re now working to fix or replace everything on the car to have it ready for round five of the Speedcar Super Series and the title the following weekend”.

Currently running eighth in the SSS Championship overall and sixth in the actual SSS contractor point score prize pool behind Victorian star Harley Bishop by less than 300 points; Smee is adamant the only thing that could keep him away from round five is if the engine suffered significant damage in the wreck.

“As long the engine is alright… That’s the main thing. Terry King of Dominator Engines is coming over this week to go through the engine and hopefully it hasn’t been damaged. If it’s okay we should have the car as a roller by Thursday, ready to engine start and test this Saturday night”.

Watch for the new Smee NSW6 machine when it hits Charlton Raceway Toowoomba on Saturday 20th January. While it may not be repainted in the NSR finery before SSS Round five, Smee will be one to watch come race time.
