Brisbane! Prepare yourselves as the Mighty Midgets are racing into Archerfield this Saturday night for the opening round of the Speedcar Super Series! With cars on their way from across the country; twenty-three contracted hardchargers are preparing to take on the locals in one of the finest battles you will see this season!

Leading the charge is reigning SSS Champion Mark ‘Browndog’ Brown in his new recognisable pink mean-machine from the Rinkin Motorsports stable along with fellow New South Welshmen Troy Jenkins, Tony Abson, Mark Cooper, Matt Young, Peter Bourke, 07-08 NSW Rookie of the Year Anthony Brien, & TPCR 50 Lap Speedcar victor Nathan Smee!

Meanwhile, four cars hit the road from South Australia during the week ready to take on the Northern States for opening round glory; including the three contracted stars John McKay, Ben Dillon and Midget newcomer Mark Harrington! Plus one can’t overlook the talented Victorian representatives Peter Ghent Jnr & Brad Jackson, and contracted West Aussie legend, Neville Lance (in S16); all making the trek north for the opening round win!

But will the challenging interstaters be able to hold off the expert local guns from the Sunshine state?! This year sees Queensland’s strongest contingent ever with the likes of Grant Draney, Neale Tobin, Brock Dean, Mick Harders, Ross Mason, John Lennon and Brendan Palmer; all signed on for the SSS contracted long-haul!!

Joining the QLD’rs and bringing an international flavour to the SSS this season are Kiwi imports Jimi Quin and Stevie Walsh! Walsh is no newcomer to the SSS having previously campaigned with the NSW-based Bourke team in 2006-2007; whilst Quin, who drove to an impressive 3rd in the 08 TPCR 50 Lap Speedcar Classic; has spent countless hours behind the wheel throughout New Zealand and the United States and is sure to impress in this talent-laden field.
